Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to apply to MOSA, applicants must be in time of the application in middle school (grade 6 to 9).

Are you a student who has a genuine love for math but feels as if they have left this territory unexplored? Or do you simply want a higher understanding of a subject you are passionate for? Regardless of the reason, as long as there is passion for math the MOSA experience is definitely for you! Sit down and fill out our fun yet tough application form and try your chances at getting into MOSA 2023.

Process

Overview

To complete the application, the student must submit all required documents, attempt the Experience Gauger (a problem set that helps us get a feeling of your mathematical ability and plan for the workshop), and answer the MOSA short questions.

The students must also rank

The sessions that interest them and
The time slots that suit them, in order of preference.

Review Process

The applications for MOSA are carefully reviewed by our admissions team. Each student's application is reviewed holistically. We try our best to admit students into their preferred program and time slot to make this summer learning experience fun and comfortable for all.

While selecting applicants, our admissions team takes into consideration:

Grades in your math classes
Your reasons for applying to MOSA
Your performance on the Experience Gauger
Your responses to the short questions
Your drive to learn Mathematics

After Submitting, students will be informed about the admission decision via email within 10 days of submitting their application. Admission is on a rolling basis.

MOSA targets middle school students who are interested in advanced mathematics topics. We have 10 days to 1 day sessions, one for Number Theory and Geometry, and the other for Combinatorics and Miscellaneous topics.
